Volunteers beautify high school campus on 'Day of Service'

At Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights, commemorating Martin Luther King's birthday means making an effort to give back to the community.  Volunteers from the school and larger community showed up to clean up graffiti and paint new lines on the basketball courts; but the sense of community pride from a day of service went deeper than the surface.  “My friends are here so I don’t feel alone.
