Librarian layoffs have consequences

Many librarians around Sacramento may soon be facing unemployment.  A recent school board meeting confirmed some disturbing news: some districts are reducing or discontinuing school services, and library services could be one of those. Foothill High School’s library staff, Ms. Pegar and Ms. Ligamari, are concerned for students.  “I honestly believe that the school district is looking to save money,” said Ligamari, “and in the long-run they are cutting off their nose despite their face.”  Read more on Access Sacramento.20130305_test_shots_librarian_koerner_steven-077-241x300
