School discipline forum addresses dropout crisis

Studies show that men of color aged 18-25 are more likely to graduate in prison than graduating in public schools, and Fresno high schools have one of the highest dropout rates in California.  Community members at a forum held by the Pat Brown Institute discussed graduation disparities and the “zero-tolerance” discipline laws that have led to more suspension and expulsion.  A fellow from Boys and Men of Color, a research and policy initiative of The California Endowment, also participated.
