We Are Not Your Mascot

As the conversation continues about sport teams using Native American mascots, University of Arizona Professor Stephanie Fryberg says these images lower self-esteem among Indigenous teens and college students. "Dogs, cats, tigers and bears are mascots. We are not those things. We are human beings."
