Parental support is crucial for teen moms in Kern County

Latina girls in Kern County currently have the highest teen pregnancy rate in the state.  Having children so early often prevents young women from continuing school, and can lead them deeper into poverty.  Three Latina teen moms from Arvin, an impoverished rural town in southeast Kern County, talk about how their parents help them handle the responsibilities of single motherhood and allow them to go to school and work.  Their stories are on South Kern Sol.teenmoms
