ICE stops arresting undocumented at courthouse

Immigration Customs Enforcement will no longer arrest undocumented immigrants paying parking tickets or using other services at Kern County courthouses, after a complaint from the American Civil Liberties Union that ICE was using the courthouse as a trap for deportation.  Officials said undocumented residents would now only be detained under the vague category "exigent" circumstances.  "It allows people to come out of the shadows and it will allow people to exercise their rights."  Read more about the decision on South Kern Sol.court
