Why Long Beach needs Ethnic Studies in high schools

With over 400,000 people from around the world calling it home, Long Beach is one of the most diverse places in the country. But most young people don’t know much about other cultures living in the city - and how those cultures influence each other. Schools, community organizations, and policymakers are working to promote ethnic studies in high schools are working to change that. “Young people of color deserve to learn their histories.
