A safe space for mobile-home community

The idea for a new playground in the San Antonio del Desierto mobile home park arose when the community formed a consensus to prioritize creating safe recreational spots for youth.  The community park replaced a gravel lot which used to substitute for a playground.  “I’m relieved there is finally somewhere I can take my two little brothers to play and not have to worry about them getting run over or falling and getting hurt,” says 9 year-old Ashley Sandoval.  Read more about this and other projects in the works on Coachella Unincorporated.
