As obesity grows, Mexico eyes Richmond-inspired soda tax

A proposed citywide “soda tax” failed in Richmond last year, but other U.S. cities, and even foreign nations, have taken notice of the concept. Elected officials in Mexico announced their intention to make the country the first in the Americas to impose a national tax on sugar-sweetened beverages.  And they are looking to Richmond for help.  Read the story on Richmond Pulse.
