Reasons for a living wage in Sacramento

While the minimum wage law mandates that workers are paid a minimum, it is now known that this wage is not enough to sustain an individual's basic needs in most American environment.  Here is a college student's argument that a mandatory living wage not only raises the acceptable standard, but lessens the load on government-funded programs providing assistance to the needy, on Access Sacramento.
