More Than Half Of Mesa Verde Detainees Test Positive For COVID-19

After months of refusing to adhere to standards for testing and staff, the Monte Verde ICE Detention Center is in the midst of a lawsuit. “[GEO and ICE] have no interest in whether [detainees] live or die,” said Jeanne Parent, who works with Kern Welcoming and Extending Solidarity to Immigrants, one of the nonprofits involved in the lawsuit.
