De Gray came to the United States from Burma as a teenage refugee, and as a survivor. A member of the Teen Producers Project, De Gray made a short film to show the compassionate nature of the local Karen refugee population, and to connect American viewers with stories from the refugee experience. The video was produced by youth from Media Arts Center San Diego.
