Demonstrators: UC campus should benefit Richmond

UC Berkeley’s new Global Campus will be the biggest economic development to come to Richmond since the shipyards of World War II, and local activists want to ensure the development has value for Richmond's local residents – or at least won't harm them. They are pushing a community benefits agreement between the city and the university, urging financial protections for existing neighborhoods. "I want to see more jobs, more participation within the community, and more resources to help Richmond get back the way it was.
