The 'Mac' is where my heart is: a fight for park funding

McNamara Park, a volunteer-run youth center in South Merced, is fighting to keep its funding. Called the 'Mac' by locals, the park is viewed as a reliably safe place for youth. John Flores grew up near the Mac, and shared how his experience motivates him to volunteer at the park and advocate for its worth. "I can’t stress enough how important it is for the community to get involved. I feel our city council is not taking us seriously now, but if we organize and work together, they will have to notice and start listening to us." Read his commentary on We'Ced.
