May Day rally sends solidarity, #MercedToBaltimore

Annual May Day demonstrations across the country tend to focus on different issues, depending on the communities that are marching. In Boyle Heights in Los Angeles, people rallied against immigration policy and deportations. In Merced, Live Free Merced, which campaigns against mass incarceration, gang violence and police brutality in the area, marchers declared unity against police-inflicted violence. "Thirty demonstrators gathered... to demand justice and to honor those fallen to violence and police brutality."
