Kern residents voice opposition to planned transfer of principal

Concerned parents of Mira Monte High School students recently attended a meeting to voice opposition to a proposed change in the school’s administration–the removal of the school’s popular principal. Jaime Quiñónez stands to be reassigned, a decision that district officials say is not subject to public debate. But parents are still speaking up – for Latino representation in schools with majority Latino students – and wanting to know why Quiñónez should go. “We are saying here to all of you that that would be a big mistake. The parents of Mira Monte love their principal and they care about him.” Follow the story on South Kern Sol.
