Why did we oppose 'Sorority Sisters'?

Sorority Sisters, a VH1 reality show centered on an African American sorority, met with passionate opposition from advertisers and online petitioners for its negative portrayal of black sororities. But what about the broader portrayal of young black women, regardless of the clubs they join?  "While I applaud the successful effort to get the show dismissed from the air, I am concerned that the protest centered on the negative portrayal of sororities instead of the negative portrayal of the women.
