How should parents respond to a kid's first romance?

Parents might write it off as puppy love, but it doesn't feel that way for the teens getting into their first real relationships. The potential for their kids to share physical intimacy -- and get their feelings hurt -- may scare some parents, but teens say their parents need to strike a good balance between being involved and avoiding the subject altogether.  "Many teenagers aren't allowed to date, definitely not at 13. But because I wasn't allowed to, I found myself torn between two people I love."  Kiera Robinson talks about her adolescent romance with her mom, and interviews other teens on how their parents react to first love, on Youth Radio.
