School district proposal puts money in the wrong places, advocates say

Local groups want the superintendent to reject the Kern High School District’s budget proposal, which they say does not follow the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) regulations. The budget submitted by the district distributes new money evenly across campuses, while part of the aim of LCFF is to allocate more funds to schools whose students have higher needs. “We’ve been to meetings and expressed our concerns but they haven’t taken our concerns. They’re ignoring us and they forget who makes the schools, the parents.”  The report is on South Kern Sol.lcff
