Outgoing mayor leaves advocates wanting more

Residents of Long Beach will soon say goodbye to Bob Foster and swear in their new mayor. Foster leaves behind an eight-year legacy, including cutting $200 million from the city’s budget, bringing new funds to Long Beach, and adding 50 officers to the police force. But community advocates point out that the Foster administration made mistakes and left holes that they hope new mayor Robert Garcia will fill. “I thought that he represented only one segment of Long Beach – eastside and the developers. I think they [fixed the budget] at the expense of the neighborhoods.” Read more opinions from the community on Voicewaves.bobfoster
