Students say their parents should have say in school spending

The Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) is promised $19 million for the 2014-2015 academic year, and a document was drafted detailing local funding priorities. The plan was created with input from parents, students, and other community stakeholders. Coachella Unincorporated reporters reflected on the importance of parental involvement in decisions about their kids' education by answering a few questions. "Parents should have a say to a certain extent. They bring a different perspective to the table and one group of parents may feel that money is best spent on technology, while another group of parents may feel that an emphasis on math and reading skills is far more important." Find more of their thoughts on Coachella Unincorporated.BHC-1-480x360
