On anniversary of David Silva slaying, protesters demand justice

A year after his death following a beating by Bakersfield police, David Sal Silva's family, friends, and supporters gathered near Kern County Superior Court to spotlight police brutality in the Kern County Sheriff's office, and demanded a more independent investigation of this and other similar incidents. “We’re going against the grain in a city that thinks it’s OK for the police to shoot someone.”  The full story, with voices from the protest, are on South Kern Sol.
