The transformed woman: LB women talk sexual abuse and trauma

The event, attended by women across Long Beach and Los Angeles, was organized by local organization Long Beach Latinos in Action. Organizers said they aimed to “open the heart and mind of the woman, so she knows that she is powerful and capable.”  The conference included breakout sessions on a variety of women's issues, and offered resources on professional development, as well as help for victims of domestic and sexual violence.   “You only accomplish something if you work together, si trabajan en la comunidad con todas las personas (if you work in the community with all of the people)."  Read more about what happened at the event, on Voicewaves.[youtube=http://youtu.be/nyfe_-3OgoI]
