Are teens today more narcissistic?

One personality test given to Youth Radio interns suggest that today's millennials are more self-obsessed than previous generations.  Are social media like Instagram making Americans a more image-oriented society, or have we always been this way?  One researcher says that some of the traits we think of as narcissistic may just reflect a normal group of young people trying to become individuals.  "The argument is that kids, as a part of normal adjustment, puff themselves up in these narcissistic displays in order to cope with a self-image problems and self-esteem issues that might attend normal challenges of adolescence."  Hear how reporting interns respond to accusations of narcissism, on Youth Radio.
