Transforming Richmond, one park at a time

Pogo Park, a nonprofit led by by residents of Richmond, aims to improve parks in the Iron Triangle -- an area considered to be one of the more violent neighborhoods in the city.  Pogo Park hosted a tour of its project sites which included Elm Playlot and Harbour-8 Park, on the Richmond Greenway, where plans for a children’s park surrounded by gardens is underway.  A large scale park on the Greenway is also being developed. “The purpose of these tours is to get people out to our project sites, to see for themselves how five years of dreaming and planning is now being actualized." The Pogo Park site tour can be seen in a photo essay on Richmond Pulse.pogo park
