Bikes to help homeless youth in Boyle Heights

Without easy access to transportation, it's costly and inconvenient for youth to get to jobs, interviews, school and medical appointments.  And advocates say bikes are a fun and useful way to help disadvantaged kids feel less confined and more independent.  A new bike-share program, conceived by a teenage boy scout, will give dozens of electric bicycles to homeless youth.  "It made them forget about things that they’ve been through. I just think they deserve these kinds of things: like access to bikes and to be able to have a good time and get around."  Read about it on Boyle Heights Beat.bikeshare
