Rick Ross lyrics show rape isn't taken seriously

Rick Ross' lyrics in the song U.O.E.N.O. are raising young women to speak up, and make connections between pop culture and disturbing recent events: Canadian teen Rehtaeh Parsons' suicide, after being gang-raped, photographed and bullied as the rape went viral on youtube; 15-year-old Audrie Pott, who hanged herself after being sexually battered while passed out at a party.  Despite the media coverage of these stories, the rapper's response convinced this youth reporter that rape still isn't taken seriously, on Richmond Pulse.
