Folklorico and contemporary dance blend in Boyle Heights

The sixth installment in a series, the Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre showcased an artistic collaboration titled “Expulsion: Boyle Heights” on the vacant lot across from Mariachi Plaza. Location-based dance is the emphasis of this performance brought by two of Southern California’s oldest dancing ensembles.  Bringing life to empty space, the collaboration explores the idea of “home,” atop three stories of scaffold overlooking downtown Los Angeles.  Read about this innovative performance company, on Boyle Heights Beat.
