Youth is a priority in Violence Prevention Plan

In Long Beach, gang killings accounted for the majority of homicides among 15 to 24 year olds. Data from 2011 shows that in Long Beach, 24 out of 25 homicides were among young people.  “The youth are really the key ingredient here,” said Police Chief Jim McDonnell.
