In California, where farm workers often live in towns where they can’t buy fresh fruits and vegetables, where more than 700,000 children don’t have health insurance, where 16% of children have asthma and where the leading causes of death for young men of color are preventable violent incidents, one sector is thriving: youth media.

This website features a range of media produced by community based organizations – funded by The California Endowment in the 14 communities targeted by its Building Health Communities initiative – where young people are creating platforms for communities to voice what they need in order to be healthier, safer places to grow up.

  1. Nice to see the youth involved. Very nice video presentation, we here in East Salinas (Alisal) could learn from what your BHC group is doing. Keep up the great work.
