Across the country, citizens are looking forward to what will be the third stimulus check of the pandemic. But for Jessi Taran, a Richmond resident who recently lost her home, matters are a little more complicated. “I didn’t have a permanent address, which is a problem,” says Taran. “If you don’t file taxes, you don’t think about a tax refund as applying to you.” Luckily, mutual aid efforts like NeighborAid have stepped in to help.
