Utang Na Loob: Collage Animation Documentary Explores Immigrant Family Separation

“Utang Na Loob” tells the story of one family’s quest to be together. Jan Victor Andasan’s mother immigrated to the United States from the Philippines just two months after Jan Victor was born. For the first seven years of their life, the two communicated through cassette tapes neatly tucked away in cardboard boxes. But when it was time to join their mother, Jan Victor ended up trying to bridge a new kind of distance. Watch the full documentary at VoiceWaves.
