Distance Learning Raises Questions About Mental Health

As West Contra Costa Unified School District prepares to implement its distance learning plan, parents worry about its effect on the mental health of their children. Ada Nevarez, a  single mother of 4, said that she and her children experienced significant setbacks during distance learning last semester. “She was suffocated and anxious,” said Nevarez of her daughter in elementary school. “She was scared to use the computer.” Will Richmond families be able to navigate this new plan?
