With GEO Temporarily Postponed, I Can Sleep Peacefully For Now

Thanks to a federal judge, the city of McFarland in the Central Valley must temporarily postpone its plans to open an immigration detention center. This is good news for South Kern resident Aimee, who opposed the plan from the beginning. “The town of McFarland is meant to be a safe haven for both documented and undocumented families and with the deferring of the detention center, we as a community relish in the fact that the town of McFarland can go back to being a vibrant community without the fear of being detained.” Read the full commentary at South Kern Sol.
