Language Barrier Did Not Keep Boyle Heights Student From Achieving Greatness

Amanda Zetina is a 2020 Roosevelt High School graduate.

When Amanda Zetina arrived in the United States at 6 years old, she spoke no English. Now she’s the first person in her family to attend a four-year college. “The language barrier was difficult at first when I started my U.S. education in second grade” she says. “[But] all the hard work is still valid.
