Juneteenth Honors The Memories And Struggles Of African-Americans

On June 16, Richmond held its annual Juneteenth Celebration, where community members gathered to celebrate the emancipation of the last slave on June 19, 1865. And despite the progress that’s been made, many Richmond citizens know there’s a lot farther to go in order to reach equality. “What we ought to do now is be productive, creative and supportive towards each other and move forward, never forgetting our past.” Read more at Richmond Pulse.
