Young, Black, and Ivy-bound

Youth Radio’s Mali Dandridge was ecstatic after getting into an Ivy League university—but very quickly, that excitement became tainted with concern about how her classmates would treat her as a black woman. “That’s my worry: that getting into Brown–one of the top achievements of my life thus far–might be diminished by professors who don’t take me seriously, or classmates that assume that I rightfully didn’t earn my place.” Read more at Youth Radio.
