Living in fear in a place you call home

A young man from Kern County, where the sheriff and elected leaders are against sanctuary policies toward immigrants, shares what a “safe haven” would mean to his family. It’s the difference between being afraid to ride a bicycle around the neighborhood and living with opportunities and freedoms. “I feel happy for my two little brothers because they will never have to fear going outside.
