Why it’s important to talk about mental health

A young writer recalls what it felt like to excel in school, maintain jobs and internships, yet privately feel tired, anxious and alone. One in five people ages 13 and older have experienced depression, anxiety or other mental health struggles, according to national surveys. “In public, I pulled it together by repressing negative emotions or thoughts.
