Arvin city council votes against sanctuary status

Kern County high school students spoke to city leaders in Arvin during an emotional hearing when the city council was considering declaring itself a ‘sanctuary’ city for undocumented immigrants. The council voted against the declaration. “I know what it’s like to come home and not find my dad because he has been deported.” Read more at South Kern Sol.
