Bike lanes coming to Carlson Boulevard in Richmond

Four miles of new bike lanes connecting BART and bus stations are coming to Richmond. The $500,000 project will reduce lanes for vehicular traffic in some areas, drawing criticism from people concerned about congestion. Bicycle advocates applauded the city council’s vote to move forward with the project designed to encourage residents out of their cars. “We need to make Richmond more community friendly, more people friendly.
