A call for unity in Kern County

South Kern Sol reporter Randy Villegas watched the reaction of public officials, opinion writers and others in the Kern County region after a Sikh man was the victim of a hate crime. He saw too many leaders fail to speak out against the crime. Speaking before an audience at a “Day of Unity” event held in Bakersfield on Inauguration Day, Villegas called for local leaders and residents to speak out against injustice. “We are here to stand and say that a nine digit social security number does not make anybody more or less of a human being than someone else.” Read more at South Kern Sol.
