Community roundtable puts spotlight on scams targeting valley communities

Scam artists bilked Merced and Fresno area residents out of an estimated $3 million last year, but few residents came forward to federal or state agencies to report the theft. Community leaders met with agencies in Merced to discuss how to help people avoid being exploited and ask for help if they suspect they've been victimized.
