Hope, skepticism follow mayor’s ‘State of the City’

Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia championed his plans to become a ‘zero waste city’ and decreasing unemployment in his third ‘State of the city’ address this week. But even as some of Long Beach booms, welcoming new entrepreneurs and businesses, many residents still struggle to find affordable housing and quality jobs. “These gains are being made at the cost of the working class laborers.” Read more at VoiceWaves.
