Merced congregations to offer sanctuary

Merced churches are rallying to support undocumented immigrants fearful of how President-elect Donald Trump will follow through with his campaign promises to deport millions of people. Seventeen congregations have vowed to become official sanctuaries for undocumented people seeking safety from deportation. “The sacred texts call for resistance to a false hierarchy and remind us of our particularly sacred obligation to protect all people.” Read more at We’Ced.
