Adult book club inspires parents and their children to read

The books assigned by an east Los Angeles high school book club are by classic authors like Victor Villaseñor or Gabriel García Márquez. But those tasked with reading the novels aren’t students, they’re the parents. “I thought that if the parents were able to be part of a movement for literacy by reading, that then they would encourage their kids to read.” Read more at Boyle Heights Beat.
