Hmong political forum makes history in Merced

In a first for Merced, a forum for city council candidates was held in the Hmong language. Merced's Hmong residents number in the thousands and organizers said the event was held to help people more readily engage with their candidates. "It’s an amazing example of a community who came from nothing pulling themselves up by their bootstraps.
