Hmong political forum makes history in Merced

In a first for Merced, a forum for city council candidates was held in the Hmong language. Merced’s Hmong residents number in the thousands and organizers said the event was held to help people more readily engage with their candidates. “It’s an amazing example of a community who came from nothing pulling themselves up by their bootstraps. This forum was a sign of respect to this community and all that they’ve done.”  Read the story at We’Ced.
