The future is bright for top scholar from Boyle Heights

Once a Boyle Heights student, Lucydalila Cedillo is now starting Harvard University’s PhD program in biology and biomedical sciences. In this Q&A, Cedillo talks about her lifelong love of learning, the challenges she encountered as a first-generation college student and the inspiration she’s felt from her immigrant parents. “They left their family behind and left everything that was known to them to come to some foreign country with the hopes that they would open the door of opportunities for us.” Read the story at Boyle Heights Beat.
