Crushed hopes and empty chairs: A letter to Merced law enforcement

Merced law enforcement officers were invited to a recent event in Merced aimed at address mass incarceration and police accountability, the Merced Organizing Project’s Live Free Community Summit. But, as a 16-year-old writer states, no police officers or sheriff’s deputies came. “I wish I could ask you why you did not attend. Was it because you simply do not care?
